NRA Basic Handgun Orientation and Safety
PERFECT FOR FIRST TIME SHOOTERS!
This is an introductory, no-shoot course offered on a weekday of the month in each quarter starting at 6 PM to 9 PM. It is 3 hours long and includes classroom time learning firearm safety along with a number of hands-on practical exercises using dummy rounds including 5 fundamentals of shooting, stances, recoil management, storage, cleaning, and maintenance. Students are encouraged to bring their own firearm to class (not mandatory if you do not have one). Students will learn the rules for safe gun handling and storage; firearm parts and function; ammunition topics, loading and unloading of semi automatic handguns and revolvers, and causes of firearms incidents and injuries. This no-shoot class teaches students the basic knowledge and skills to safely handle and use a handgun at any gun range. The course also explains the mental mindset needed for the safe handling and storage of firearms inside and outside the home. This course satisfies the prerequisite requirement in order to attend our Try Before You Buy program.
This is NOT a concealed carry class and no certificates are provided.
