Defense Carry Fundamentals 201
DEFENSE CARRY FUNDAMENTALS - (CO-ED, 5 hours) - $150

NO PREREQUISITE COURSES NEEDED!

This class is a live-fire introductory course focusing on defensive carry, methods, techniques, and options.  Designed for the shooter with minimal knowledge of concealed carry methods.  Open to men and women 14 and older.  You are required to bring a handgun to class with a holster and a belt to support the holster.  We do not rent handguns for this class.  The purpose of this class is to get you aclimated to your firearm and holster and to train you to work with your firearm in a defensive situation.  No concealed handgun license is required for this course. Defense Carry Fundamentals course will take the shooter's skill to the next safe level.  This is a 5-hour, all-range-time, live-fire course. Candidates will learn basic drawing from a holster and from concealment techniques with an emphasis on generating a knowledge of the techniques shown, along with the building of muscle-memory which will be utilized at length and in-depth in the next class. Upon completing this course, candidates will have a solid introductory knowledge of the requirements for carrying concealed and drawing from a holster.  If you are seeking or already have a CHL and want professional, hands-on, defensive training with handguns, this is the first in a series of real-time, live-fire, range-time courses from Stoneridge Tactical.  This course starts you at understanding the types of firearms available and the features and benefits of each.  You'll be educated on types of holsters and how they'll benefit you if you are forced into a defensive action.  When it comes to protecting yourself or a loved one, start here!  Some ranges we use require payment of park entry fees for non-member shooters.  You are responsible for park entry fees.  We recommend purchasing memberships at the range if you plan on being an avid shooter.

Certificates of course completion will be awarded. Completion certificates satisfy ORS 166.291 for Oregon Concealed Carry.

At Stoneridge Tactical, we provide you with case study to describe the issues, then move into the concepts behind it all. As a last step, we describe to you the tactic or the technique you will be using as a means to win in a Critical Incident and to neutralize a Lethal Threat, should you ever be confronted by one.
